Sharp and to the point
Relatively new member at BPS, Paul Foster, won the trophy in this years annual, open class themed competition. Members were asked to interpret this years word ‘sharp’.
Paul’s well composed entry of some coloured pencils won him the title and trophy for a year as well as first place in his class in the following months print competion.
The theme that he has chosen for next year is ‘reflections’.
Well done Paul.
10 out of 10 for 2
Bps held their annual ‘Alan Coleman’ Black and White inter-club competition recently. BPS came 5th out of 7 clubs, with Loughton Camera Club taking first place. With only 6 ½ points difference between the top and bottom clubs scores, it was an exciting competition, for which the title is much sought after.
Two BPS members, David Hall and Graham Parry, were awarded the full 10 points for each of their entries.
Well done to all that entered and we look forward to next year, as it is a great night to see the best Black and White work from the clubs that enter.
Annual competition 2010
Barking Photographic Society held their 2010 Annual competition on 11 February this
year. The judge for the night was Paul Raddon LRPS, DPAGB, with the prizes given
out by The Mayoress of Barking and Dagenham, Mrs.Joan Fairbrass.
Amongst the winners were member Karen Webb, who won the trophy for the best candid
portrait print in any class; Chairman Bill Smith, who won the trophy for the best
colour slide in the Annual and member John Fincham, who won the Intermediate Colour
Print section for getting the most points through the year in his class.
Some excellent prints were on show, so well done to all those that entered.
Tea with the Mayor
Some of BPS’s members were luckily enough to visit East Ham Town Hall, for afternoon tea with the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Councillor Nirmal Singh Gill and his wife. A good time was had by all that attended.
